EcoDataCenter has successfully operated HPC for the BMW Group in the data center in Piteå (formerly Fortlax Datacenter) for the past four years and has now gained renewed trust after a period of fierce competition with other Nordic datacenter players. Important criteria in the procurement have been technical credibility, which will ensure the operation of BMW Group's HPC, together with high safety and, above all, a strong focus on sustainability.

“We are very happy and proud to have won this contract with BMW. The fact that BMW chooses us as a partner proofs that we have an offer that attracts customers with very high demands. It feels good to be able to support BMW secure their HPC operations and at the same time strengthen their sustainability profile within IT, says Magnus Angermund, CMO EcoDataCenter.

EcoDataCenter has a stated goal of becoming the largest data center player in the Nordic market. This journey began in 2014 in a conscious effort with the planning and construction of the data center in Falun that would be safer and more sustainable than any other data center. Today it is the world's first climate-positive data center.

“We see a clearly increasing demand for sustainable data centers. EcoDataCenter is very well positioned to receive more customers with the same high demands as BMW. With our highly skilled team and our fantastic facilities, I look forward to the future. Our journey has just begun.” Says Lars Schedin, CEO of EcoDataCenter.
