EcoDataCenter expands with yet another data center building at the largest Swedish colocation campus
2019-05-07 – EcoDataCenter is set to dramatically expand its existing campus facility which is powered entirely from ‘green’ sources. Located in Falun, north of Stockholm, the new expanded data center will provide a total of 10MW of diverse supply to ‘Campus Falun’. The campus totals 80,000m2 and at present has a fully operational 2MW colocation data center.
With the construction of a second data center, only a quarter of the land will actually be built on. This, together with the available 65MW diverse supply, allows plenty of space and power for future expansion. Another step in EcoDataCenter’s ambitious plan to become the largest and greenest player in the Nordic region.
Construction starts in May and the building will be operational during the second quarter of 2020.
Lars Schedin, CEO of EcoDataCenter, “This is the beginning of establishing EcoDataCenter as the Nordic region's largest data center player”.

EcoDataCenter builds and operates data centres for colocation, HPC and Hyperscale with the ambition to set a new standard in the industry for sustainability and safety. Our first campus is located in Falun, but the goal is to become a leader in the Nordic region and to compete with the world's largest data centres. EcoDataCenter recently purchased Fortlax, as a first step towards becoming a Nordic giant. EcoDataCenter's main owner is Areim, since 2018, which with the ownership of EcoDataCenter wants to create a new investment segment in the real estate market.
